Dear All,
I look forward to seeing all members who entered the Vodafone Northern Ireland Press Photographer of The Year at the Hilton Belfast next Thursday 10^th May.

57 members put in entries for this years awards and the judges John Edwards, The Sun Picture Editor and Dermot O'Shea former Irish Times Picture Editor reported a very high standard  - notably the Sports Section they found very difficult to judge as it was very well subscribed. The news category they reported was not as subscribed as previous years, which reflects our changing environment. Maybe we should look into a sports feature and a sports action section for future years.

I would like to announce that this years Chairman's Charity Draw will go to McMillan Cancer Support who are based at Belfast City Hospital, Cancer Centre. I have a friend, Stephen Hunter who unfortunately is terminally ill and he suggested we donate our money to them.

With this in mind could any members who are able to get some prizes for this draw please contact me ASAP - hotel break vouchers or anything that would do.

Nikon UK are donating a D200 camera, Vodafone a state of the art mobile phone and we are working on others - your support would be appreciated.
